Americana Roots Rock

Fronted by a tenor-slinging troubador from Southern Ontario, backed by a tele-weilding Southern California transplant, anchored by a pair of our small town's natives. Based in Truckee; nestled in the shadow of Donner Pass in Northern California's High Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Forget The Roses is a five-piece band from Truckee, California. With more than an album's worth of orginal songs under their collective belts, FTR writes rootsy, hook-laden songs - from hushed, sad honky tonks; giving way to grooving, decontructed folk; exploding into full frontal assaults of shimmering cymbal crashed and searing power chords. The band's unique brand of roots rock hybridizes songwriting influences from Wilco and Ryan Adams with sonic homages to Exile-era Rolling Stones, California Rock (CCR, Moby Grape, Gram Parsons, Jackson Browne, The Mother Hips, etc.), and current Indie faves.

Todd Wees (vocals, guitar) - Todd is a consummate lead singer and front-man who makes everyone feel like they were invited to the party,  and whose powerful vocals carry the room wherever they go. More Gretsky than McSorley on the ice.

Morgan Hargrave (guitar) - Morgan loves building tube amps and fuzz boxes almost as must as he loves playing the guitar. Considers himself the band's 'multi-instrumenalist' because he plays the shaker on a couple of songs.

Cody Brouwers (bass, vocals) - Cody is a Truckee native and has performed in many area bands throughout his musical career. Has several tattoos that make him look cooler than everyone else in the band. Cody solidifies the rhythm section with his steady bass playing and anchors the vocals with harmonies.

Gabe Carlson (drums, vocals) - Gabe is also a Truckee native and has performed in many area bands and toured the west coast. Gabe is FTR's Charlie Watts; very much on the quiet side, but his percussion work speaks volumes.
